Privacy policy
What we collect, why we hold it, who sees it, and how to have it erased.
The short version
We collect the least we need to hold an appointment and read a chart. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and no one outside the consultation sees your birth details.
What we collect
- Contact details. Your name, email address and telephone number, so we can confirm and, if necessary, reschedule the appointment.
- Birth details. Name, date, time and place of birth for each person to be read. This is the material of the consultation itself; without it there is nothing to read.
- Your questions. Whatever you write in the questions field, so the session can be prepared.
- Booking metadata. Your time zone and country, used to show correct times and the correct currency.
- Payment metadata. A payment reference and order reference returned by the payment gateway, Razorpay for payments made within India and PayPal for payments made from anywhere else. We never receive your card number, CVV or bank credentials.
Why we hold it, and for how long
Contact and booking details are held to perform the consultation you paid for and to meet accounting and tax obligations, which in India require records to be retained for eight financial years. Birth details, questions and session notes are held so that a returning client does not have to start again, and so a reading can be checked against what was said before.
You may ask us to erase your birth details, questions and notes at any time by writing to info@abhigyaanand.com. We will do so within thirty days, keeping only the minimum transaction record the law requires us to keep.
Who else sees it
- Abhigya Anand, who conducts the consultation.
- The office, for scheduling and correspondence only.
- Razorpay Software Private Limited, for payments made within India. It processes the payment and holds the card data we never see.
- PayPal, for payments made from outside India, on the same basis.
- Resend, which delivers the emails we send you: your confirmation, reminders and any notice of a change.
- Google, for the calendar entry and the video link, as described below.
- Fly.io, which hosts this site and its database in Mumbai, India.
- GitHub, which holds our encrypted database backups.
- Google, which provides the calendar and the video call. The appointment appears in our calendar and you are added as an invitee, so the invitation carries your name and email address.
- Our email provider, which carries the confirmation and the notes.
Nobody else. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Recordings
Sessions are recorded so that the recording and notes can be sent to you. The recording is treated with the same confidentiality as the session. Tell us before the session starts if you would rather not be recorded, in which case you will receive written notes only.
Cookies and tracking
This booking site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. It stores your part-completed booking in your own browser so that a refresh does not lose your answers, and that store is cleared when the booking completes. The payment gateway sets its own cookies when its payment window opens; those are governed by the privacy policy of Razorpay or PayPal, whichever is handling your payment, and by theirs privacy policy.
Where your information is held
Booking records are held on servers operated on our behalf. Payment processing takes place in India through the gateway handling it: Razorpay within India, PayPal from elsewhere. Calendar and video services are provided by Google, and email by Resend, both of which may involve transfer outside your country. Where you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, those transfers rely on the standard contractual clauses published by the European Commission, which each of these providers has adopted.
Your rights
You may ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to erase it, or object to a particular use of it. Write to info@abhigyaanand.com. If you are not satisfied with the response, escalate to pranav@abhigyaanand.com.
Children
Consultations for a person under eighteen are booked and attended by a parent or guardian, who provides the birth details and consents to their use.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection. Payment signatures are verified on our server before any appointment is confirmed, so a payment cannot be faked from a browser. Access to booking records is limited to the people named above.
